Many voices are demanding our attention, and we must learn to distinguish the One who deserves our obedience.
This is not a call reserved for those in the prophetic office. It is a responsibility for every believer.
In my journey as a prophet, my greatest battle was not distinguishing the voice of the enemy from the voice of God. It was discerning when my own thoughts, emotions and desires were speaking—and when God was speaking.
The closeness of a voice does not establish its source. The strength of an impression does not establish its authority.
Who is speaking?
Is it me? Is it God? Or is another voice influencing what I am hearing?
